MESSAGE

Bill Sullivan - NarratorThank you very much for visiting my website.

I call my approach to voiceovers ‘the Business Voice’ for a simple reason: I bring a strong business background to my long established career in narration. And that’s important.

When considering a voice for your project, there are a number of things to keep in mind:

  1. voiceover experience: you may like the sound of a particular voice, but does that person have the skill set and experience to relate your message to your intended audience?
  2. business experience: a professional in any field combines the skills of his/her trade with a solid business background; after all, you are trusting your company’s image and values to the narrator you choose!
  3. experience living in Japan: the responsibility of narrators in Japan is to create a ‘bridge’ between the client and intended audience. Understanding both is essential to the success of your project.

I look forward to meeting you and discussing your project and needs in more detail!

ABOUT

Bill Sullivan is a professional voice artist and narrator from Los Angeles. Since arriving in Japan in 1993, Bill has been the mainstay voice for many news, documentary and educational programs on Japanese Public Broadcaster, while also the voice of choice for a wide range of clients in the corporate world.

In Los Angeles, Bill combined his love of outdoor sports with the vocal gifts his father nurtured from a young age. Already a disc jockey at 19, he pursued radio announcing and promotions at commercial stations in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Portland, Oregon and later in Hayama at Shonan Beach FM. Producing commercials for such ocean-related companies as Quiksilver, Katin and Body Glove, Bill became involved in sports marketing, becoming Public Relations Director for Body Glove International and its wide range of sports equipment, apparel and accessories as well as the U.S. Pro Tour of Surfing (PSAA) and U.S. Pro Tour of Snowboarding (PSTA).

Bill originally came to Japan on a promotional trip for the PSTA in 1991. Ten years later, snowboarding was chosen as an official Olympic sport.

Bill’s first job at Japanese Public Broadcaster was with Yasashii Business Eigo in 1994. Since that time, he has endeavored to provide clients with an unmatched level of service and dependability, resulting in two decades of dedicated voice work.  With well over 7,500 recordings to his credit in Japan alone, Bill has established himself as one of the top recognized voice talents in the industry.
